There is no secret AI switch. Clear, accurate, useful information about your business is still the foundation.
Someone in Muscat asks an AI assistant to compare kitchen fit-out companies. Another types a long, specific question into Google and reads a summary before any link. In both cases, a business is being described in a place it does not fully control. The practical question is simple: when a system tries to understand you, what does it find?
Start with what has not changed.
Google’s guidance for site owners states that there are no additional requirements to appear in its AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special optimisations needed. The same fundamentals apply: pages that can be crawled, content written for people, and a site that works well. Google Search Central: AI features and your website
That is useful news. It means the time you spend on AI search visibility should improve the business itself: clearer service pages, better answers to real questions and consistent facts across the web. Be cautious of anyone selling a guaranteed placement inside AI answers. No one can promise that.
Paid placements and organic AI answers are separate. Buying an ad does not change what an assistant says about you.
Write down the questions customers really ask.
Collect them from WhatsApp chats, phone calls, showroom visits and sales meetings, in both Arabic and English. “Do you work in Sohar?” “How long does installation take?” “What is included in the price?” These are the questions people now ask search engines and assistants in full sentences.
Each important question deserves a clear answer somewhere on your website. Not hidden in an image, not only in an Instagram caption and not buried in a PDF. A direct, honest answer on a page that can be read and linked to is more useful for customers and easier for any system to understand.
Give each service a page with real substance.
A single “Services” page listing twelve offers in one line each tells a reader very little. For the services that matter most, explain who it is for, how the process works, what affects the timeline or price, where you operate and what a customer should prepare.
Show evidence you can stand behind: real project photographs, named team expertise, certifications you actually hold and case studies you have permission to publish. Specific, verifiable detail is what makes a business easy to describe accurately.
- One clear page per core service, in Arabic and English.
- Plain answers to price, timing, coverage area and process questions.
- Real work and credentials, with dates and context where helpful.
Keep your facts consistent everywhere.
Your business name, phone numbers, address, opening hours and service areas should match across your website, Google Business Profile, social profiles and directory listings. Conflicting details make it harder for customers and systems to trust any single version.
Pay particular attention to how your name appears in Arabic and English. If your brand is written three different ways, choose the official versions and use them consistently. It sounds minor. It saves real confusion.
Make the website easy to read—for everyone.
Check the basics that make content accessible: pages that load quickly on a phone, text that exists as text, descriptive headings, sensible internal links and an Arabic version that is a complete page rather than a partial translation. Structured data can help describe your organisation and pages, provided it matches what is visible.
Review your robots.txt and any blocking settings with a developer. Decide deliberately which crawlers should access your site, rather than discovering months later that an old setting has kept useful pages out of view.
Measure what you can, honestly.
AI search reporting is still limited and changes often. Watch the signals you can verify: Search Console performance, referral traffic from assistants where it appears in your analytics, branded search and—most importantly—the quality of enquiries. Ask new customers how they found you and record the answer.
Then run a simple quarterly check: ask several assistants the questions your customers ask, in both languages, and note whether the description of your business is accurate. Where it is wrong, fix the source information you control. That is the most dependable lever you have.
